Abstract: Brachioplasty in Elderly Patients

چکیده
INTRODUCTION: Perception of beauty is influenced by geographic, ethnic, cultural, and demographic factors. However, objective measurements remain the foundation for esthetic evaluations. In the quest to better define the “ideal” female buttock, this study assumes interdependence between variables such as country of residence, sex, age, occupation, and esthetic perception, yielding a waist to hip ratio which appears most pleasing across most cultures and geographic locations.

Abstract: The Constriction Arm Band Deformity in Brachioplasty Patients: Characterization and Incidence Using a Prospective Registry
INTRODUCTION: Global demand for postmassive weight loss (MWL) body contouring surgery is increasing. Recent literature has cited an especially dramatic increase in brachioplasty in the United States, from 338 procedures in 2000 to 17,099 in 2015. New challenges are emerging, some without clear solutions. Here we describe our series of arm band deformities not yet been described in the literature.

METHODS The records of all patients who underwent a brachioplasty procedure from a multipractice medical center were reviewed. Outcomes measured included patient demographics, operative interventions, and postoperative...

متن کاملLiposuction-Assisted Short-Scar Brachioplasty: Technical Highlights.
Upper arm contouring is based on the location and amount of excess skin and fat. The short-scar brachioplasty addresses minimal to moderate skin laxity and lipodystrophy in the proximal arm in patients with appropriate skin tone and quality. This article highlights technical refinements of the senior author's (R.J.R.) approach to short-scar medial liposuction-assisted brachioplasty to maximize ...

The authors recommend this brachioplasty technique for patients who have lost a significant amount of weight. The sinusoidal-shaped scar helps to avoid problems such as linear scar contracture, wound tension, and widened or hypertrophic scars.
